Thirty-three-year-old Kristy Garrido was arrested and charged with seven counts of Child Abuse after police found seven children abandoned and neglected in her home.

According to court documents, at around noon, Jan. 7, police spotted three children, ages 13, 9 and 3 walking by themselves near the Pagachao, Agat area. One child only had a pair of shorts on with no shoes and the children appeared dirty. The oldest child told police they were headed to their aunt's house and they hadn't seen Garrido in days. They also didn't have a phone to contact Garrido.

When police located their aunt, the oldest child said five other siblings were back home. Their ages ranged from 12 to 5. At the home, police noted the children were living in poor living conditions with no electricity or running water, garbage was strewn all over and feces on several surfaces. The children also appeared as if they hadn't bathed in days.

Garrido agreed to meet police at the Agat precinct. During the interview, said she left on Wed., Jan. 6 with a 14-year-old child and Marvin Cruz to give milk to a 16-year-old in Mangilao who had a newborn. She said her car broke down so they was unable to return home. She also said she did have electricity and water in the home but couldn't explain why she didn't try to contact the children until police were called or why the children hadn't bathed in days.

Police also noted they had been to the home before for reports of child neglect. All nine children were taken into Child Protective Services custody.
