In the U.S. District Court of Guam, 41-year old Brian Sanchez Chan was sentenced to the maximum term of 71 months in prison, and five years of supervised release.
Chan pled guilty to possession of 50 or more grams of meth with intent to distribute. According to KUAM archives, he was arrested in September of last year after a DEA task force officer went undercover to purchase meth from a dealer later identified as Chan.
Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood noted Chan's various drug transactions amounting to a street value of $42,000. Chan also violated his pre-trial release conditions by failing to report for drug testing and had positive cases.
He addressed the court, saying he accepted responsibility, but said "it's the people on this island that influence me, but it's my fault I'm sorry."
