Daniel Vincent Savares, 28, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault as a third-degree felony and Reckless Conduct as a misdemeanor.

According to court documents, the victim reported the incident to police on Aug. 30. He said he was sitting at the old Dededo police precinct when Savares, who works for the Dededo Mayor's Office, yelled at him to leave. Savares then allegedly retrieved a black a "pistol" from his pick up and shot at him five times. The victim was hit twice, once in the thumb and once in the chest. The victim also said Savares had threatened him with the "pistol" before but never shot at him. 

At the site of the shooting, police saw a suspected pool of blood with a round, silver BB bullet. 

Savares was interviewed and told police the victim was drinking in the area with several others. He alleged the victim refused to leave and threw an object at him. That's when he shot him with a BB gun. Police confiscated Savares' BB gun with round bullets similar to one found at the scene.
