Governor Lou Leon Guerrero sounded-off on the ongoing U.S. House Ethics investigative subcommittee probe into Guam. Del. Michael San Nicolas and his recent father's day message.

"My comment is it is a very serious situation when you form a subcommittee to investigate allegations. So I am very concerned about that," said Leon Guerrero weighing in on the U.S. House Ethics investigative subcommittee probe into San Nicolas. "I do hope for the sake of the congressman that this goes by quickly so that there can be answers. I think that he needs to be accountable to the people of Guam in terms of whatever the findings are," she added.

She says she doesn't have an official position on the matter but the process will run its course.

As national headlines chronicle the affair, Leon Guerrero also responding to the delegate's Father's day message on his campaign's Facebook page on local issues. He wrote in part, "I am firmly resolved to shorten this labor of love if the people of Guam do not resoundingly change out the incompetence of local leadership."

Leon Guerrero said, "I think everyone who has been elected to public office has been serving in the best interest of the people of Guam. We are working very hard here to get through this COVID." 

The governor fiercely defending her record, saying, "I think he should apologize to the people of Guam for that statement he has made. And what that has done is that it has put doubt on the people of Guam's trust for our leaders. Our leaders here work hard and I expect our federal leaders to do the same."

The delegate has not responded to KUAM's multiple requests for an interview.
