At today's COVID briefing at Adelup, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero announced GovGuam will be reopening next week and that she's extending the public health emergency until June 30.

Starting June 1 all Government of Guam agencies will reopen adhering to the 50 percent occupancy mandate and some employees will still be allowed to work from home. Category 3 employees' differential pay will expire once GovGuam reopens.

Also, come June 1, there will be new quarantine protocols for arrivals. Essential healthcare workers, people who have traveled to Guam for an emergency or personal hardship will be allowed to complete their 14-day quarantine at their residence or lodging location. They must be able to verify their identity using a valid Guam ID, a mayor's verification, or by signing a declaration of residency upon arrival.

Nonresidents will still be subject to the 14-day quarantine in a government facility. Diagnostic tests will still be allowed from no longer than a week prior to their arrival, which will allow them to self-quarantine at their rental lodging.

As for tourist arrivals, after the industry reopens on July 1, the governor said they are working to establish protocol and restrictions.
