Bobby Alvarez resigning as GVB's vice president

Bobby Alvarez has stepped-down as vice-president of the Guam Visitors Bureau effective May 31, and former GVB head Gerry Perez is returning to replace him temporarily, effective June 1.
GVB chairman Sonny Ada says the moves were announced in a board meeting this afternoon. This follows the retirement of Pilar Laguana as president, last month and the appointment of former governor Carl Gutierrez as the interim president.
The board has said it is searching for a permanent president with extensive tourism experience.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero announced just yesterday plans for a limited reopening of the visitor industry by July 1. Specifically, it would allow arrivals from Japan, Korea and Taiwan to bypass the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
