In the CNMI, Star Marianas Air, Inc. announced yesterday that flights are slated to resume on Friday, May 15. The airline took to Facebook and explained that because they are applying for the Air Carrier Workers Support funding under the CARES Act and “as a precondition to be eligible for this program, airlines must operate scheduled flights to destinations served prior to March 1, 2020.”

The flight schedule online indicates that effective May 15, they will fly between Saipan and Rota every Tuesday and Friday. Some scheduled flights between Saipan and Tinian are daily. Flights between Guam and Rota are listed as “temporarily unavailable.”

They are requesting passengers wear masks in-flight.

KUAM reached out to the CNMI Office of the Governor inquiring about the health and safety protocol for residents traveling within the CNMI regarding quarantine.

“The protocol will be established for this. The Task Force will be designating sites on Tinian and Rota,” Press Secretary Kevin Bautista said. “But the most important takeaway is that we continue to advise residents to only travel if necessary to go to Tinian or Rota.”
