The island marks its ninth traffic-related fatality of the year after a motorcycle spill on Route 1 by Adelup.

Tuesday evening at around 7 p.m., Guam Police Department officers responded to the scene. Preliminary police reports suggest that a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on the outer lane by Adelup when the male motorcyclist lost control and ran off the roadway. The motorcycle then collided with the guardrail causing the man to be ejected. According to GFD Spokesperson Kevin Reilly, units responded to one male, pulseless and breathless at the scene and was taken to Guam Memorial Hospital. Reilly says because of the extent of the injuries, emergency services were withheld. The male was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.

GPD's Highway Patrol Division was activated and the case remains open as investigators have yet to determine if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
