You may have seen it along Marine Corps Drive this afternoon. Governor’s spokesperson Krystal Paco-San Agustin says the Guam Police Department authorized a police escort for the remains of three military personnel from Naval Hospital to Andersen Air Force Base.

Paco says a request was made for the escort by Naval Hospital Guam. She adds “upon recognizing the nature of the escort, a local motorcycle club paid tribute to the servicemen including Aviation Ordnanceman Chief Petty Officer Charles Robert Thacker Jr. of the USS Theodore Roosevelt with an impromptu motorcade”.

Thacker passed away earlier this week due to complications from COVID-19. Island residents are urged to stay home. Additionally daily road blocks remain in effect from 10am-4pm and 6-10pm.
