Exactly one year after officially filing for bankruptcy, today the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana filed a proposed Chapter 11 Plan for Reorganization.

The plan is the latest step in the process which over the past year has consisted of setting a deadline for sexual abuse claims to be filed, efforts to sell non-essential properties to fund the reorganization and compensation to abuse survivors, mediation and settlement.

The archbishop's proposed plan will still need to be approved by all claimants and then by the bankruptcy court. According to news files at the time of the Church filed for bankruptcy, it had almost $30 million in assets, and $45.6 million in liabilities inclusive of the clergy sexual abuse lawsuits.
