In the District Court of Guam, trial has been moved up to as early as next week for William Topasna Mantanona.

This comes after both parties presented their exhibits and witness list to Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rosetta San Nicolas told the court they intend to have 16 call sessions as evidence and the remaining exhibits will be transcripts of investigation reports and photographs.

As for the defense, attorney William Gavras plans to have five exhibits. Also during the morning hearing, the court grants the government's request for the defense counsel to receive the grand jury transcripts.

Mantanona faces obstruction of justice charges, along with his brother retired Guam Police Department officer John "Boom" Mantanona and former Juror Greg Tyquiengco. They are accused of conspiring to influence the jury to vote "not guilty" in the Raymond and Juanita Martinez drug trial case. Mantanona's trial was scheduled for Jan. 15.
