Highsmith appeals termination from AG's office
Attorney David Highsmith has filed an appeal of his termination as an assistant attorney general.
Highsmith cited four reasons for his appeal: inadequate notice, the punishment was too severe, that he has clean record of 19 years of employment in GovGuam and 37 years of practicing law and "anything I might learn in discovery or cannot think of now."
Highsmith's termination, effective Oct. 2 follows his arrest in August after he allegedly pushed another attorney over a disagreement over a civil case. The incident occurred outside Judge Anita Sukola's courtroom.
