Down elevators add to GMH woes
Malfunctions and breakdowns continue to afflict our island's only public hospital.
Three of four elevators at the Guam Memorial Hospital as of news time are non-functioning, according to hospital administrator, Lillian Posadas.
She said technicians from Otis Elevator Company are conducting repairs.
This problem follows Monday's 12-hour shutdown of the Electronic Health Record or EHR computer system caused by a power outage early that morning. It caused a burnout of the system's memory components that took GMH's IT and MIS teams time to replace and reprogram. This forced hospital staff to manually process patients' medical charts, files, and records.
