It appears visitor arrivals from Russia will be coming to a standstill. That's according to a post on CNMI Congressman Gregorio Kilili Sablan's Facebook page.

" The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is rescinding discretionary parole policies relating to nationals of the Russian Federation who are seeking entry into Guam and/or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) for a temporary visit for business or pleasure," Sablan said in the social media post. "The rule will be posted on the Federal Register website for public viewing tomorrow, Friday, August 30, 2019. The rule will be published on September 3, 2019."

The congressman wrote this is "very unfortunate."

According to the most recent visitor arrival report from the Guam Visitors Bureau, Russia recorded a strong growth at 32.5% in July 2019.
