Former DOC officer charged in home invasion, kidnapping case to change plea

A jury was to be selected for defendant Darren Jared Carandang Cruz today, however, that is no longer the case.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, a change of plea hearing is set for Aug. 22nd.
At the time, Cruz was a Department of Corrections officer was charged with home invasion and kidnapping.

As KUAM News reported, two years ago, Cruz allegedly hid in a woman's home and forced her and a man to another location where he brutally beat the man for hours and threatened to kill them if they told the police.
