Drums drained at airport could have PFAS

The Guam Environmental Protection Agency is investigating photos that show what could be chemicals being released into a storm drain at the airport.
Viewer submitted pics given to KUAM show a drum of "Buckeye" brand firefighting foam atop a storm drain.
Preliminary investigation findings from Guam EPA show the drums were being used for "secondary containment." Guam EPA spokesman Nic Lee told KUAM News the drums were being used to store foam drained from fire trucks - and according to Legislative testimony from ARFF leadership, that foam has PFAS - the "forever chemicals" that are the subject of a lawsuit GovGuam is attempting to enter into.
Lee says its possible the drums may have had PFAS residue in them before they were emptied into the storm drain.
He says the agency will work with the GIAA during the investigation and more information will be released once it's completed.
