Guam's medical marijuana board has met, with the board electing Public Health director Linda Unpingco Denorcey as chair, Jonathon Savares as patient-advocate, and practitioner oncologist Dr. Chen Huang.

The board also reviewed its budget of $750,000 and reps from the Guam Economic Development Authority discussed the possibility of a qualifying certificate for the laboratory that would test cannabis. The board is also compiling a list of doctors who are willing to provide written recommendations for medicinal cannabis.

Cannabis Control Board member Wil Parkinson addressed the body and proposed waiving testing requirements for medicinal weed, however, board members had concerns about this and are set to continue the discussion at the next meeting.
