The heart of Hagatna was full of energy with Skinner Plaza, the Guam Congress Building, and the Guam Museum playing host to the over 6 thousand teens participating in the LIFE Teen Expo. The LIFE acronym stands for "Live. Imagine. Fulfill. Experience," and that is exactly what teens did.

"On the day of there was always something for the kids to do. Our entertainment lineup was full, we had an escape/panic room, we had workshops, teen talks and we also had a sustainability zone," noted Guam Community College's Collegiate DECA President Cyndal Abad. She added that without the help, support, and partnership of Bank of Guam and Big Fish Creative, this unique event would not have been possible.

"It was a lot of fun. Every week leading up to the event we had school visits, we had the different Miss Guams, different radio personalities show up and really hype the kids up, and their peers," she stated.

In its second year, the LIFE Teen Expo was brought to life by several sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, and presenters. It's an event that came to be last year. "The Okkodo High School DECA we were under our advisor Katherine Chargualaf, and she actually gave us the idea to start some kind of convention/expo for teens by teens. It's about whatever we wanted to learn about life after high school," said Abad.

The LIFE Teen Expo allowed teens to connect with professionals while learning about valuable resources and services that can help them pursue their passion, find purpose, succeed, and overcome the many obstacles in their lives. The expo also allowed students to learn about sustainability and the importance of going green.

Students were also able to earn up to four hours of service learning towards graduation requirements.
