Police are now conducting a homicide investigation following the autopsy performed on a Chalan Pago man found dead on Saturday.

John Blas, 51, was found lifeless with injuries along the jungle line of his home along Chalan Chirik.

Police today confirmed an autopsy concluded Blas' manner of death was a homicide. The cause has yet to be determined pending further analysis. Additional details of the investigation have yet to be released.

Neighbors described Blas as friendly. Several were shocked to learn about the death happening in what they say is a rather quiet part of the village.

For now, Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division detectives are anyone asking with information to call dispatchers at 472-8911 or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP.

This is the latest unsolved homicide case for the Guam Police Department this year.

In June, 15-year-old Timicca Nauta was found dead at her Dededo home after she was apparently stabbed.

In July, an Air Force veteran, who neighbors identified as Ray, was found dead inside his Mangilao apartment.

And just last month, an elderly woman was found dead at her Macheche home. Her cause of death, however, has since been ruled undetermined.
