The man caught on camera brutally beating a pair of bull dogs late last year was sentenced to four years suspended for time served for two counts of animal abuse as a 3rd degree felony. It was in September of 2015 that Stephen Paul Borja was arrested for assaulting dogs Rex and Lucky, leading to injuries including broken legs, a fractured skull, damaged kidneys and broken ribs.

Borja, who pled guilty, will also face a $500 fine and four years probation.

His case marks the first ever prosecution of Guam's felony animal cruelty statute, which was enacted in 2011.
