The Guam U-18 rugby team is heading for Hong Kong today, to play in the Asian Schools Rugby Sevens Championship hosted by the Hong Kong Rugby Union on behalf of the Hong Kong School Sports Association.

The tournament brings together teams from Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Guam with matches to be played on Saturday July 23 and Sunday July 24.

Guam plays in the tournament opening match against India before facing the last tournament champion and favorites to repeat in 2016, Hong Kong. The Guam team includes many of the standouts from the recent IIAAG High School rugby competition and will be look to bring physicality to their matches against the mostly smaller Asian players.

To showcase and promote the sport of Badminton, the Guam National Badminton Federation will be taking over Micronesia Mall's Center Court on Friday, 11am - 2pm for a fun exhibition match featuring junior players from the Philippines.

The Guam National Badminton Federation is looking to increase participation at the middle school level where Badminton will be a third quarter sport beginning January 2017.

The Federation is also hosting a Goodwill Tournament this weekend when players from Saipan, Philippines and Guam will compete in various events at the Guam Sports Complex. The public is invited to come out and watch!
