DOE cancels Monday classes at all public schools
All public schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, May 18, 2015. All twelve (12) month employees are required to report to their respective worksites and are advised to dress in comfortable clothing and to bring a supply of drinking water. Teachers are encouraged to report to their schools to assess their classrooms. Hourly employees do not need to report in tomorrow.
Guam Department of Education ("GDOE") Superintendent Jon Fernandez is informing stakeholders that all public schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, May 18, 2015. All twelve (12) month employees are required to report to their respective worksites and are advised to dress in comfortable clothing and to bring a supply of drinking water. Teachers are encouraged to report to their schools to assess their classrooms. Hourly employees do not need to report in tomorrow. The department will be completing its assessment of school facilities and working with partner agencies to ensure all health and safety requirements are met before reopening.
GDOE will continue to work hard to resume normal operations and are understanding of the challenges that families are faced with in the aftermath of Typhoon Dolphin.
