Guam - The Consolidated Commission on Utilities is working with the Guam Waterworks Authority to issue a contract to replace old leaking water lines that provide water to southern residents in Agat and Santa Rita. Since the agency increased feeding water to the southern residents from the northern aquifer as a result of the Navy increasing its water rates, southern villages have been experiencing more frequent water woes. According to CCU chairperson Joseph Duenas a report on the problem should be finalized next week which will determine the cost and project details.
