Guam - Thousands of the island's faithful came out today to celebrate the beginning of the Lenten season, a season which spans the next 40 days and 40 nights. With ashes ceremonially spread on the heads of the faithful, it marks the beginning of a season that encourages the Catholic community to engage in alms giving, fasting, and prayer. The religious season will end on April 5th, on Easter Day.
