Ray Perez to oversee SWAT inquiry

Guam - Police Captain Ray Perez, who is the commander of District 1 Neighborhood Patrol Division, has been detailed to the Chief of Police's Office to oversee the administrative investigation of the SWAT Academy Program. According to police spokesperson Officer AJ Balajadia a few Criminal Investigation Division detectives are also being assigned to assist Captain Perez. Over the weekend 17-year police veteran and SWAT Cycle 9 Trainee Siegfried "Dove" Mortera passed away. The medical examiner had ruled the 49-year-old died of a heart attack. Mortera collapsed during SWAT training last Wednesday morning. Two other swat trainees were taken to the hospital being treated for dehydration.
