Guam - Four dozen families are now a step closer to achieving the Guamanian Dream of owning a home. Today Governor Eddie Calvo issued grant certificates to 48 first-time homeowners at a ceremony in Adelup. The average for each grant is about $7,000 and made possible through the Guam Housing Corporation's First Time Homeowners Assistance Program. Since it's inception a few years ago, 283 grant certificates have been issued totaling over $2 million. The program meanwhile has already generated $43 million worth in mortgage activity.
