Guam - He has extensive leadership experience in both the public and private sector and now Glenn Leon Guerrero wants to help lead the Department of Public Works. The Guam Legislature held a confirmation hearing for Leon Guerrero to serve as director after being appointed by the governor two months ago. He told lawmakers he hopes to strategically map out the department's future, employ new technologies and work closely with the employees.

"My overall objective to look at ways to contribute to their talent pool, not only when I look at training, but I also want for them to come up together with this body, with the governor and if need be with federal stakeholders to see how we can improve the department so we can meet all the responsibilities that we're challenged and tasked with," he said.

He adds some of his goals are to work with the legislature to develop sustainable programs to build new schools, repair the roads and provide timely replacement of school buses and heavy equipment.
