Guam - While it was originally set to be heard this morning, legislation authorizing the demolition of the old Department of Administration building was taken off today's public hearing agenda. Bill 32's author Senator Rory Respicio says this was done not only to allow further discussion on the environmental, mechanical, safety and structural issues affecting the building, but to determine whether other uses could be made to the site. In light of the structural issues, Respicio plans to hold a series of roundtable hearings with GEDA, the Hagatna Redevelopment Authority and the Governor's Office.
