Guam - Although the event will have lines of food, vendors, and musical performances, Soroptomist International's 5th Annual Earrings for Erica and Mini Valentine Fair serves a greater purpose.
Soroptomist's former president, Lou Sablan said, "Therese Crisostomo lost her life, and her daughter, Erica Aquino, they lost their lives due to her estranged husband, at that time Guam didn't have a safe haven to exchange children."
Because of this Soroptomist worked tirelessly to get grant funding until Erica's House - a place that provides a safe refuge for women dealing with domestic violence - finally became a reality. 20% of all the goods sold at the Mini-Valentine Fair will be donated to support the cause.
The fair takes place this Sunday at the Outrigger from 11-2pm. Tickets are $35 for adults, and $15 for children. If you are interested in vending, contact Jackie Perez at 777-4289.
