Guam - The Driver's License and Guam ID Branch of the Department of Rev and Tax will be closed this Friday, January 16.
As part of a transition into a new program, employees of the Driver's License and Guam ID Branch will be attending a two-day training session on January 16 and 17.
According to a release, upgrades to the security of the processing and issuance of both Driver's Licenses and Guam ID cards will be underway. The upgrade is part of a federal effort titled REAL ID, which aims to improve the reliability and accuracy of state-issued identification documents. Currently, each state and territory has its own criteria for producing and issuing state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards.
The rest of Rev and Tax will remain open on Friday. The Driver's License and Guam ID Branch will resume normal business hours on Tuesday January 20. DRT is closed on Monday, January 19 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
