Guam - Department of Education superintendent Jon Fernandez says they're getting closer to finalizing a $100 million request for proposal for the repairs and renovations to schools islandwide.

Fernandez says another meeting was held just this week with their partners, the Guam Economic Development Authority and the Department of Public Works. "DPW is committed to giving us a draft very shortly that we can work on and provide our view point of what's important to the school system with regard to Simon Sanchez, a master facilities plan, with regard to how DOE continues to have a room and shaping of the work and construction and all the facilities improvements and with that we'll give it back to DPW, they'll want GEDA then to provide language in regards to the financing," he said.

Fernandez says once those components are addressed and put together it will be sent to the Attorney General's Office for review. He adds although he can't provide a timeline, he does say that a draft could be ready in two weeks.
