Outgoing senators say goodbyes

Guam - With inauguration of the 33rd Guam Legislature set for Monday, during the final session of the 32nd Guam Legislature today senators who will not be returning said their goodbyes. They are Senator Michael Limtiaco who did not seek re-election and Senators Aline Yamashita and Chris Duenas who were unsuccessful in November.
Limtiaco said, "For the people of Guam, I thank you for the opportunity to serve you, I walk away knowing that this experience of serving you as a senator in the 32nd Guam Legislature has thoroughly enriched my life. I walk away with a better appreciation of the difficulties of managing our government and I look forward to the opportunity to serve you again sometime in the future."
Yamashita added, "I lost this election but I gained a snapshot of four years of opportunity to represent what is needed by individuals I did my best to represent those issues by being at roundtables, public hearings and oversight hearings and by being in attendance and attentive at all sessions with all humility, Madam Speaker, I ask that you continue to work to ensure that every single person has the opportunity to be healthy happy and productive."
And Duenas said, "I just wanted to basically make some of those observations and also say thank you to the people of Guam, thank you for the confidence that you placed in me allowing me to serve in the 31st and 32nd Guam legislatures."
The inauguration for the 33rd Guam Legislature is scheduled for Monday at 11am.
