Guam - With 2014 drawing to a close, you're probably preparing to ring in the New Year with a bang.
And while you make plans for New Year's festivities, residents are reminded to celebrate responsibly.
GPD acting spokesperson Paul Tapao said, "We want to remind the island community that it is against the law. If you unlawfully discharge your firearm be advised that if we do get complaints or our officers witness the act being committed or a neighbor that would like to be a complainant would like to testify we will make arrests."
Meanwhile, Guam Fire Department reminds residents that fireworks are explosives and unauthorized use of fireworks are illegal.
Residents are also reminded to drive sober or get pulled over.
GPD will be conducting stationary DUI checkpoints on all major highways as well as roving enforcement through Saturday.
