Guam - Its an opportunity learn how to navigate rough waters with free water safety classes this weekend.
According to Adelup spokesperson Julius Santos this is the second series of water safety classes. Last week, classes were held at the Governor Joseph Flores Beach Park.
"Last week at Ypao Beach, the dynamics there, the fact that Ypao is the deepest beach where the currents are stronger and tips on what would happen if you're caught in these currents basically this is the information that these volunteer lifeguards and instructors are going to be relaying to the community at large," he said.
Santos adds that Adelup welcomes suggestions from the public on how to improve local water safety initiatives.
Participants will learn what to do if faced with dangerous situations.
The class runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Matapang Beach pavilion adjacent to the lifeguard tower.
