Guam - Police arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly making threatening comments on Facebook against cops.
The Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division arrested 34-year-old Arthur R. Sango for allegedly making threatening comments on Facebook about killing police officers.
According to acting police spokesperson Paul Tapao, Sango was commenting about a video posted on Facebook on December 10th related to an incident that occurred at the Hemlani Apartments. "The video depicts officers from the Tamuning area responding to a disturbance in an apartment complex within the Harmon area," said Tapao.
The Facebook user that posted the video on his account stated "look what these cops does to our pple on guam when they were doin nothing to them. This cop should be sued for doing that." [sic] The video generated more than 250 comments, among them Sango who goes by "Lost Boy Trash" on FB.
"Days after that Mr. Sango had posted within his Facebook page to the effects of guys check their name tags referring to the officers responding to the scene and when they're off follow them home and kill them," Tapao said.
Officer Tapao says threats like this are taken seriously, adding, "Our utmost concern of course is the safety of our officers and our first responders to respond to situations within our community on a daily basis and for us to feel like, for us to be looking over our shoulder because of threats like this it really does bring attention to us and we want to assure our officers and first responders who work the beats day in and day out that they're also going to be safe."
Sango was arrested on four counts of terrorizing. He was booked and confined.
