Guam - While collective bargaining agreement discussion between the Department of Education and the Guam Federation of Teachers regarding the teacher's contract will likely continue into the new calendar year 2015, a support staff contract may be near.
DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez told KUAM News, "With the support staff contract we are going to talk to the union about how to proceed we did get the board's approval to recommence negotiations and I know there was an earlier draft of the support staff contract that had been previously affirmed by the union and voted on by the board."
Fernandez says they are going to see if there any changes that need to be made to the contract and then will ask for the board's guidance on how to proceed to finalize a support staff contract.
