Guam - The Guam Community College celebrates the opening of the newly renovated Building "E" for education, English and pre-architectural drafting students. The structure is GCC's third LEED-certified building and is the fifth new or renovated building to be constructed on the Mangilao campus since 2009.

GCC president Mary Okada said, "Today we celebrate the fruits of our collective labor, sweat, passion and commitment with yet the completion of another renovated and expansion facility on our campus."

The $5.2 million project was funded in part through a grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the GCC board of Trustees Capital Projects Fund. The new building contains 10 classroom/labs, a study room and an exercise room along with solar panels, a rain water catchment system and other sustainable features.
