Guam - In response to a request from Sen. Michael San Nicolas, acting Speaker BJ Cruz has called the Legislature in session for 4 o'clock this afternoon to discuss Bill 435. San Nicolas introduced the bill, which proposes rescinding raises and retroactive pay for elected officials and cabinet members. Last month Senators by majority vote passed Bill 1-8(S) giving themselves and political appointees pay raises and retroactive pay. It was later signed by then acting Governor Ray Tenorio. Sen. San Nicolas has been against raises for elected leaders as well as political appointees since they were first proposed in the Hay Pay Plan in January.
