Guam - Efforts continue by the Department of Rev & Tax to complete its real property revaluation by the end of the year. It's been more than 20 years since DRT has performed a mass revaluation and reappraisal of all real property on Guam.

DRT director John Camacho said, "We've been having meetings almost every workday because we're coming close to our completion which is at the end of the year and this morning we met with one of the vendors and we're looking at how we're going to transpose all those datas into our system. We're working and still looking at a target date with our vendor to complete it before the end of the year."

Camacho adds he's hoping lawmakers pass Bill 413 introduced by Senator Michael Limtiaco before the end of the year. He says the bill, which extends the deadline for real property tax exemptions, would help in the overall revaluation process.
