Guam - The Third Annual Puengen Minagof is taking place at University of Guam this evening. The event will feature a latte competition, novena, and different kinds of bonelos for visitors to enjoy.
Chamorro language professor Rosa Palomo said, "To demonstrate to our entire community that we do have young people who are very interested in the future of the language, the Chamorro language and the culture, and in our classes we make it very clear that the culture needs the language."
The event promotes both the Chamorro language and culture through song and prayer, and features a novena, table of refreshments including seasonal bonelos, and a latte stone competition. Local businesses interested in supporting the program can purchase lattes with all proceeds going to the Chamorro Language Competition in March.
