Guam - Husband and wife Leonard Quaile and Michelle Green are suing the Guam Memorial Hospital for $3 million in damages for the death of their 5-week-old son, Aiden.

Court documents state the Pennsylvania couple allege the hospital failed to meet the standard of care. Back in October 2011, they report waiting over 30 minutes before Aiden could be seen by a triage nurse and treated by a doctor. Aiden then turned blue. When advised he needed to be intubated, an anesthesiologist was unavailable. The newborn's lungs later filled with blood before a doctor performed chest compressions on Aiden and advised the parents he wouldn't survive.

Aiden died of pneumonia in his mother's arms.

Following his death, the couple allege comments from hospital staff were intentionally made to deflect the hospital's negligence.

In GMH's answer to the complaint filed by hospital legal counsel Minakshi Hemlani, she states the hospital used reasonable care and diligence when treating Aiden and acted according to its best professional judgment.
