Guam - The holiday season wouldn't be complete without a special treat one hotel offers up year after year.

Assistant chief engineer Kevin Maron has been with the Hilton Guam Resort for the last 14 years. He says putting together the train is a team effort, telling KUAM News, "We start in July trying to redo the decorations, putting the tracks down."

It's five months of hard work but time well spent with the Hilton family and others in the community that will visit the Tumon resort. Crystal Sablan is the Hilton's director of marketing, and said, "The train has been a holiday tradition at the hotel, it's great for the kids to come down and enjoy, you know Christmas is all about the children and so it's something that just brings a smile to a child's face when they walk through the lobby."

Kids of all ages will certainly smile when they see bright lights and local landmarks such as the Latte of Freedom and the Spanish Bridge in the southern part of Guam. "We have about right about 250 figurines that go on the train. We have 5 different train sets, and they're all basically for decorations for Christmas," she explained.

The Christmas holiday is also the season of giving, and Hilton's Holiday Train reinforces this sentiment through selecting a local charity to benefit from sponsorship every year. "This year we decided to go with the Alee Shelter, we felt that it was a great community outreach program that we wanted to share the donation with," she said.

Start your holiday off with the Hilton Holiday Train, running every day between 8 and 9pm until early January.
