Guam - Just in time for the holidays, GEDA will host its annual Small Business Fair this weekend. GEDA's industry development specialists Brianna Benito explained, saying, "You're going to expect a lot of quality of products made on Guam. We have Guam premium chocolates, Pacific WBA who does a lot of word carvings, blue amber trio who does trio and not only Guam Product Seal holders but a lot of locally owned business."
And Nico Fujikawa added,"We've also invited some of the small businesses who are interested in it and we kind of wanted to bring them all together and give them that avenue to get that product out there and show the people of Guam and the community they have to offer and the talent we do have."
From food products to jewelry and accessories to music from local artists to traditional wood carvings, the fair has several offerings that would make the perfect gift for anyone, anywhere. Fujikawa said, "This is the perfect way for us and these vendors to not only get their name out there, but for care packages and having something that's authentically made on Guam and certified by us, is definitely the way to go."
Benito added, "It's a pretty large amount of vendors, but they are great vendors and they're for adults and kids, it will be a great turnout."
Close to four dozen vendors are expected at the Small Business Fair. And while you'll have a chance to get your holiday shopping out of the way if you attend, you'll also be helping Guam's economy, as Fujikawa said, "You buy local, you help a local entrepreneur, somebody trying to make a business and it keeps the money on Guam."
The Small Business Fair is set for Saturday November 29 from 10am to 5pm on the 2nd Floor Expo Hall of the Agana Shopping Center.
