Guam - Randy Palaganas, a man caught possessing 73 movie files of young children being sexually abused, is sentenced to five years behind bars.


At the District Court this morning, all parties agreed on the mandatory minimum and no more considering many factors, including his cooperation with the government, the length of time he was downloading the child pornography, and the nature and severity of the collection. All parties also acknowledged that Palaganas is effeminate and suffers from a hearing impairment which increases his potential for victimization while under custody. Today, the 28-year-old apologized to the court admitting to his wrongdoing.


His five year sentence will be followed by five years supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender.
