Tenorio signs pay raise legislation

Guam - Additional tax refunds were paid out on Monday, the government of Guam has the day off on Black Friday and now government of Guam Directors and elected leaders such as Senators, the Lt. Governor and Governor of Guam as well as the Attorney General and Public Auditor get their hay pay raises. KUAM News has confirmed with Adelup officials that Acting Governor Ray Tenorio signed Bill 1(8-S). The legislation not only provides for cabinet members and elected leaders, but also gives them retroactive payments dated back to January.

Here's a breakdown of the salary adjustments:

Governor

$90,000 - $130,000

Lt. Governor

$85,000 - $110,000

Senators

$65,000 - $85,000

Attorney General

$109,000 - $128,000

Public Auditor

$100,000 - $110,000

 Acting Governor Ray Tenorio called Senators into a special session last week to address the legislation. Senators passed the bill by majority vote in just a few hours. Sen. Michael Limtiaco voted against its passage, while Senators Tom Ada, Michael San Nicholas and Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. were not present.
