KUAM CareForce Honors celebrates outstanding Guamanians
Guam - It was a special weekend for Team KUAM as we honored some of those most inspiring people on Guam. Now in our fourth year, KUAM is proud to announce our 2014 KUAM Careforce Honors recipients. The annual awards program recognizes those exceptional people whose passion, dedication, service and relentless efforts have made our island a better place.
The honorees were recognized during an awards ceremony over the weekend at the Cars Plus showroom in Maite.
The Selfless Service Honor is awarded to an individual who tirelessly devotes their time to bettering our community as a volunteer and/or organizer. The 2014 honoree is Juanita Blaz of Island Girl Power.
The Health and Wellness Honor is awarded to an individual whose service, dedication, and/or innovation in the field of health and wellness has made a difference in the community. The 2014 honoree is Pat Luces, program coordinator, diabetes prevention control program, bureau of community health services, DPHSS.
The Think Green Honor is awarded to an individual who, through their efforts, has aimed to help protect, sustain and foster respect and care of our environment. The 2014 honoree is Melanie Mendiola, project director, Farm to Table Guam.
And The A'adahen I Kottura Honor is awarded to an individual who has worked to preserve and promote our Chamoru culture. The 2014 honoree is Vincent Reyes of Inetnon Gef Pago.

The awards ceremony will also feature performances from The Saxophone Quartet.
