Guam - After two previous public hearings and a lengthy session in the Committee of the Whole, discussion continued this morning on proposed legislation for a new hybrid retirement system. During a roundtable discussion, lawmakers questioned the Government of Guam Retirement Fund and other stakeholders on Bill 394 and parts of this new hybrid retirement proposal.
Board chairman Joe T. San Agustin said, "This so-called 'hybrid' gives some sort of future looking into what's going to happen 7,000 people and that's what on the table now what are we going to do with the 7,000 people and we've been working on the past five, six, seven years, everyday, we got people in that class they're screaming, what's going to happen to me."
Vice Speaker BJ Cruz says he will schedule another roundtable to keep lawmakers informed on the issue.
