Guam - It started off with legislation to pay owed overtime to the Guam Police Department, the Department of Corrections and the Guam Fire Department. But after several amendments and several days of session, Bill 415 will also pay overtime to employees at the Judiciary and the Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency. It also includes amendments by Senator Michael San Nicolas to fully fund 2015 overtime, night differential and hazardous pay anticipated for GPD.
Friday afternoon senators rose out of the Committee of the Whole with a recommendation to pass the bill. It passed unanimously. Session you may recall convened following a request by Senator Brant McCreadie who wrote the governor last weekend to address public safety overtime.
