Guam - This time tomorrow the University of Guam will have a new name. A ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow morning to officially rename the facility to "The University of Guam Calvo Field House".

The Calvo family has committed a donation of $3 million as part of UOG's 60th Anniversary Capital Campaign and UOG's vision for a 21st Century campus. Longtime supporter of the university and member of the endowment foundation Jerry Calvo comments that UOG is such an important part of our past, present and future not only in Guam but throughout Micronesia.

"We feel blessed and privileged to be able to help the university with its fund-raising efforts and capital improvement campaign," he said, adding that they are humbled and thankful UOG has decided to honor the memories of his father, E.T. Calvo, and his brother the late Edward M. Calvo, who exemplified the principles of hard work and giving back to the community.
