Guam - They're critical to the island's public safety and today, twenty two DepCor employees received their long-awaited promotions.
According to DepCor director Jose San Agustin, it's been eleven years since any type of promotion was funded for within the department, and he hopes it isn't the last.
"This is just a fraction of the officers that were interviewed and went through a panel that met the criteria to be promoted and so there are more deserve that promotion as well so I want to give them that opportunity," he said.
San Agustin notes today's recipients included two captains, three lieutenants, three sergeants, several corporals and several correction officers.
